Welcome to our Leadership Institute Region 3 Meeting Site

Bienvenue à la réunion du Leadership Institute sur la région 3

Ron Singer, PMP

Region 3 Mentor and Meeting Sponsor

2020 is clearly the year of Change and without a doubt, a most trying year caused by the world COVID-19 pandemic. All in-person events were cancelled including the planned LIR3 to be hosted by PMI Champlain Valley in beautiful Burlington, Vermont earlier this year. Sadly, we had to cancel the in person LIR3 for 2021.  So, lets hope we get past this trying time and once again meet in person to learn and share and foster long lasting relationships with one another.

As your Regional Mentor, and I have to say its been an honour and a pleasure to have the distinct privilege to support all18 Chapters and to work closely with your Chapter Partner, Larissa Moran and Chapter Administrator, Toby Utermohlen. My four-year term ends December 31, 2020 and I will work with my successor over the next few months transition the role.

I sincerely want to thank your 2020 LIR3 Planning Committee who earlier in the year were planning the in-person event scheduled for June 4 -6, 2020 in Burlington, Vermont. Your committee responded to the crisis by pivoting to a series of 7 by-weekly virtual sessions. All sessions were well attended and free. I want to thank the following volunteers who helped deliver the sessions:

  • Neil Delaney, President PMICV & Event Lead
  • Roshni Ranjan, President PMILOC
  • Nadine Fortin, VP Professional Development, PMIOVOC
  • Kelly Simms, President PMINL
  • Nik Patel, VP Finance & Sponsorship
  • Dennis Abuan, Past President PMIDH

I commenced my journey in 2017 at a time when PMI was commencing a change process that led us to a whole new brand, a new CEO, Disciplined Agile, a new Annual Planning process and many other positive changes. Changes also occurred within PMI Region 3. PMI Toronto managed all funds from the start many years ago until December 31, 2017. All funds were transferred to the Mass Bay Chapter in 2018 as the regional meeting was held in Boston. Shortly after the regional meeting in 2018, all remaining funds were transferred to PMI Montreal who currently manage the fund on behalf of our region. During 2018, we agreed to standardize the annual Chapter fee at $1.00 per member in US funds. I wand to sincerely thank both PMI Toronto and PMI Montreal for their valued support.

The future for PMI looks bright and I would encourage you to collaborate with your fellow chapters to learn and share. We will get through our challenges together. Thankyou for volunteering for PMI demonstrating passion and excellence for our valued PMI members.

Cheers,
